Subm.. WHAT???

Webster's Dictionary defines submit as: "1. To surrender to the authority, discretion, or will of another. 2. To commit to the decision, consideration, or judgment of another. 3. To offer as a suggestion or opinion."

Up until a week ago, you would say the word submit around me and I'd cringe! I have now come to my own definition of that word. It is not: "Just stand there and take what I give you! Or to let anyone walk all over you!" No, it's a term of compassion and complete trust in that other person. In my case, my spouse. Submit means for me, to check my attitude and my pride (a characteristic that God says is NOT one of love) at the door. Don't even bring it in our house! Realize that the man that my Lord and Savior has placed on earth and before me, to be my friend, my encourager, my spiritual leader, my warrior and my HEAD of my household. The man that God created for me and my family could not and will not lead us astray. He would do nothing to hurt me or put my family in jeopardy! I therefore had to check it all at the door and TRUST my husband, my warrior, my leader to lead me and my family on the road that God has laid for us to follow.

In this way, I have to learn how to submit or realize that my daughter was never going to have such an awesome marriage picture to look at and emulate! If I'm not worth my changing, my daughter IS!!!

I believe now that we are in spiritual alignment as God has set for us....
So, here is Dani's definition of Submit: "TRUST!"
